Hummingbird watering can

For many people, gardening is a relaxing and tranquil activity.  In designing this watering can, I was inspired by the hummingbird, which flutters its wings 70 times each second but can gently approach a flower with grace and control.  The watering can has a long, thin stem and a plummeting wing-like handle to give its user ultimate control.  The color of the watering can embraces the hummingbird's coat: a matte black base which makes its dichroic lemon-lime-to-deep-turquoise handle shine.

For this endeavor, I focused most closely on the industrial design of the watering can.  I conducted background research and grounded my concept in biomimicry, but the bulk of my work went toward form development and fabrication of the object.
